Sour Patch Kids as a brand is constantly iterating, wether it’s a new flavor or new partnership.
Sour Patch Kids flavored Slurpees at 7-11 stores are a summertime hit,
a real crowd pleaser and only available for a short time.
Turns out nobody chows down on Sourpatch Kids like gamers.
These fun 0:15s launched new Fire and Freeze flavors and gave us ample content to create
a library of :06s, GIFs and still imagery to use both organically and with paid on social.
The launch of Snapchat Spectacles was a Snapbot machine in Venice Beach. The only way to acquire a pair was at this vending machine, in place for only 24 hours. We flew five pairs from LA to NYC to deliver us a pair so we could get Sourpatch Kids content out that very day. Groundbreaking? Maybe not. But our clients were so happy to be interviewed by both AdWeek and AdAge and were the talk of the town within their walls at Mondelez. And oh yeah, consumers really dug it, too. They were dying to play with this new social media feature and there was no clutter blocking our way.

Facebook approached us with an invitation to participate in their AR Hackathon and gave us the honor of presenting
several of our concepts to the Creative Council. Our concept for Sour Patch Kids for Single’s Awareness Day was received as progressive – not only because of the under-representation of the CPG category within AR, but also because of the innovative use of user engagement and our well-thought through solves for both camera orientations. Our clients were thrilled that we brought the brand to life so perfectly on a new platform.
Ultimately, this was such a success, Facebook even offered to subsidize production, paying for almost half of the cost to execute.
A true cult brand, we noticed that consumers were literally making t-shirts and customizing sneakers with the Sourpatch Kids logo and the kids themselves. So we decided to give the people what they want! And what better way to celebrate Singles Awareness Day than by giving singles sweet merch to take the sourness out of being alone.
